SQL Database Analyst
Richmond, Virginia - Contract Role
TECHEAD is seeking a SQL DBA to join our team. As a SQL DBA your tasks will include but may not be limited to:
Qualifications
Database administrator manages SQL server databases on windows platform Primary duties include installation, configuration and administration of SQL Server databases. Manage and support various backup/recovery procedures for SQL Server databases/instances Additional duties may include process documentation, task automation and maintain audit and regulatory requirements
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and provide after hours infrastructure support as needed. Works in collaboration with multiple business units to provide complex problems resolutions
Knowledge/experience requirements:
- The successful candidate will have 1 - 3 years of experience in the following areas: Supports multiple SQL Server databases on Windows 2008/2012 operating systems Responsible for software installation, database creation, support and administration of SQL Server databases
- Works in collaboration with multiple business units and provides resolution for complex problems across project teams.
- Monitor and optimize performance issues at the application and database level. Ability to communicate technical issues in a non-technical manner to clients and management
- Experience in database software management and adhere to all standard security and installation procedures.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills: Strong Understanding and knowledge of database architecture. Continue to develop database administration knowledge, skills and abilities to reach a higher level of proficiency and work complexity
