Sr. Database Developer

TECHEAD is seeking a Sr. Database Developer to join our team. As a Sr. Database Developer your tasks will include but may not be limited to:

• 5 years’ experience writing reports using SSRS/SSIS with Microsoft SQL Server backend.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server database maintenance plans.
• 2 years programming experience with .NET.
• Knowledge of Telerik or other reporting tools is a plus.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Senior Database Developer reports to the Software Manager. The position works with all levels of users in developing reports.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintaining new and existing databases
• Monitors database scheduled jobs to ensure proper execution.
• Designs new database jobs and processes for business  driven needs.
• Designs new SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages
• Collaborate with software developers on designing, testing and implementation tasks
• Designs new and optimize existing SQL queries.
• Writes Database maintenance plans.
• Ensures that business requirements and customer specifications are consistently being met.
• Communicate options and decision points to IT and the customer where alternative solutions exist.
• Ensures that business requirements and customer specifications are consistently being met.
• Recommends appropriate security measures in database systems.
• Encourages technical excellence and continual improvement.
• Ensures proper documentation of solutions.
• Performs additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Responsible for performing routine maintenance of database servers, developing reports to be consumed by all levels of the organization, and to assist Software Engineers with the database engine level aspects of their applications. Responsible to monitoring and constantly improving company’s security posture.

UNIQUE/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Regular, reliable attendance on-site is an essential function of the job. Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required to maintain systems with minimal impact on end computer system users.
