Richmond, Virginia - Contract Role

TECHEAD is seeking a Hardware Engineer III to join our team. As a Hardware Engineer III your tasks will include but may not be limited to:

Active Directory Engineer
We are seeking an Engineer within the Identity and Access Management organization who will be responsible for the analysis, implementation, and support of enterprise level Identity solutions including Active Directory, Privileged Access Management, Azure Active Directory, AWS Directory, LDAP, and ILM. Individual will be responsible for building and supporting infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment along with resolving complex or high severity incidents. Individual must be self-motivated and must be able to work well in a geographically dispersed, virtual team environment. Candidate must have excellent communication skills including proven experience in effectively communicating technical challenges and solutions to peers, customers, and senior management.

Candidates for this role should have strong level knowledge of Active Directory and a base foundation in other Directory Service and identity technologies and be passionate about learning and delivering a secure, stable and continually improving the environment that enables the company to meet its objectives. Candidates should welcome the challenge of integrating new technologies into production as well as the opportunity to work on cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Active Directory responsibilities such as domain controller promotion and demotion, organizational unit setup and delegation of administration, group policy creation and modification, administration of AD sites, subnets and site links, and schema changes.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and incident problem resolutions with multiple infrastructure teams.
  • Manage AWS Cloud formation and Azure Resource Manager Templates with multi-region and scaling capability to deploy IAM infrastructure.
  • Participate as a team member on projects involving Active Directory and cloud directory and identity products in the cloud.
  • Willingness to primarily work mostly during non-business hours during maintenance windows to implement changes and buildout of our infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Develop detailed standards and implementation documentation.
  • Analyze the current Active Directory environment to identify both technical and operational challenges and develop continuous improvement action plans.
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance monitoring, and maintenance to ensure high availability and proactively identify opportunities for service improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of Active Directory engineering experience that includes designing, implementing and maintaining complex enterprise level Active Directory solutions
  • At least 1 year of experience providing operational support for large-scale enterprise level Active Directory environments
  • At least 1 year of experience in implementing Windows security concepts and policies
  • At least 2 years of experience with integration of applications with Active Directory via LDAP and Kerberos for authentication and authorization
  • Entry-level experience in supporting IAS cloud technologies in AWS or Azure
  • Strong understanding of agile and infrastructure as code methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Mathematics
  • At least 2 years of experience with Windows Server 2012\2016 Active Directory
  • Entry level experience in programming and scripting in languages such as C#, VBScript, PowerShell, or Python to develop and manage complex automation scripts
  • Entry level experience with cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Active Directory COTS products with IIS and SQL components
  • High-level understanding of AD integration with Ping SSO, PingID MFA, CyberArk, Centrify, ServiceNow, and SailPoint.
